5TH YEAR WELDING CLASSES

5th year apprentices, prior to graduating from the program, are required to attend weekly welding classes in order to maximize their effectiveness on the job. 
2018 Class Dates: Every Thursday for 10 weeks beginning March 29 and ending May 31. 
 
Time: Class begins at 6 p.m. SHARP.
Instructor: Clooney Clary
 
Location: BRCC West Baton Rouge Campus
               3233 Rosedale Road, Port Allen, LA
 
Directions:
 
Take I-10 W across the Mississippi River Bridge. Take exit 151 for LA-415 toward US-190/Lobdell. Turn left onto LA-76W. The welding center will be to the left on the BRCC Campus. Be sure to leave early on the first day of class to allow time to find it.

Apprentices MUST come to welding class prepared with the following necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE):
 
  • Welding hood with #10 Lens or better
  • Welding gloves
  • Chipping hammer
  • Wire brush
  • Long sleeve cotton shirt
  • Work boots
  • Clear safety glasses
